Dental Lasers

Dental lasers have been used in dentistry for the last 25 years.

Currently, the 4 dental lasers in common use today are the Erbium, Nol; YAG; Diode and CO2.

I have chosen to use the Erbium laser due to its multiple uses and safety.  An Erbium laser treats both hard and soft tissue and ranks the highest in FDA clearances for dental procedures.  This laser can be used anywhere a scalpel is employed including periodontal procedures, gingival contouring, crown lengthening, treatment of failing implants, biopsies and frenectomies.

When a laser cuts the soft tissue, it cauterizes the blood vessels to minimize bleeding and is completely painless.  The laser sears the nerve endings for a very comfortable post-operative experience.

To summarize, my Erbium laser features:

  • No cutting
  • No stitches
  • Very little bleeding
  • Faster and more comfortable recovery
  • Biostimulation –activates quicker healing
